the gallery
The Art of Middle-Earth Gallery is a permanent private exhibition in Vragkaniotika, Corfu, Greece, dedicated exclusively to original contemporary oil paintings inspired by the world of J.R.R. Tolkien.
Conceived as an immersive and evolving artistic environment, the gallery approaches Middle-earth through atmosphere, memory, myth and narrative rather than traditional illustration.
The space was personally designed and curated by artist Spiros Gelekas as an extension of his artistic practice, a place where painting, silence and storytelling coexist.
Located in the traditional village of Vragkaniotika, just a few minutes from Messonghi in southern Corfu, the gallery offers a unique cultural experience beyond a traditional art exhibition. The permanent collection presents original acrylic paintings inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien, classical mythology and the traditions of European painting, arranged as a carefully curated visual narrative. Visitors are personally guided through the exhibition, exploring the stories, symbolism and artistic process behind each work, creating an experience that many describe as closer to a museum than a conventional gallery.
Whether you are interested in art, literature, mythology or simply looking for an inspiring place to visit during your stay in Corfu, the gallery invites you to slow down and experience Middle-earth through fine art.
Myth. Memory. Silence.
