The Cacophony of Melkor
Original painting by Spiros Gelekas.
Inspired by the primordial discord introduced into the Music of the Ainur, The Cacophony of Melkor attempts to visualize corruption not as a figure, but as a force tearing through creation itself.
White fractured forms erupt through darkness like broken roots, lightning, or veins spreading across the fabric of the world. At the center, the distant silhouette becomes almost consumed by the chaos it unleashed - no longer entirely physical, but transformed into an echo of imbalance and ruin.
Rather than depicting a literal moment from Tolkien’s mythology, the painting approaches Melkor symbolically: as dissonance entering harmony, and as the violent birth of fracture within creation itself.
Acrylic on canvas board, 30x40cm.
